Professor Carlo Signorelli, MD, MSc, PhD, is a full professor of hygiene and public health at Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele in Milan and the University of Parma. He serves as the director of the Post-Graduate School in Hygiene and Preventive Medicine at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University. He has held prominent leadership roles, including president of ASPHER, past president of the Italian Society of Hygiene (SItI), and treasurer of EUPHA. He has also advised the Italian Ministry of Health and the Senate on public health policies. Professor Signorelli holds degrees in medicine, law, and political sciences, as well as an MSc and PhD in epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. His research focuses on public health, epidemiology, environmental health, and vaccination policies. He has coordinated EU-funded research projects, including studies on COVID-19’s socio-economic impact. He has authored over 1,600 scientific and journalistic publications, including more than 360 indexed papers and 40 university textbooks. In addition to his academic work, he has played a key role in public service and health policy development in Italy and Europe.

Paul Barach

Paul Barach (Chair of the Board of Accreditation)

Professor, College of Population Health, Thomas Jefferson University, Imperial College London.

Professor Paul Barach, B.Med.Sci, MD, MPH, AUA, Major (Ret.), is a physician and public health scientist at Jefferson College of Population Health, Thomas Jefferson University. He is an expert in health systems accreditation and a strong advocate for public health education. With over 25 years of experience, he has served as an executive and advisor in universities, academic medical centers, and health systems. Paul has held leadership roles, including Chief Quality Officer and Associate Chief Medical Officer of a 1,200-bed hospital system, and Associate Dean of a medical school. He leads Disaster and Emergency efforts for ASPHER and has secured $56 million in federal research funding. He has supervised 50 graduate students and designed multiple clinical and community health trials. A double-boarded anesthesiologist and critical care specialist trained at Harvard and Massachusetts General Hospital, he holds honorary professorships at several universities worldwide. Paul has co-authored over 350 papers, book chapters, and five books. He has served as an editor for BMJ Safety and Quality and is currently an associate editor for journals in telehealth, medicine, and pediatric cardiology.

Vesna Bjegovic-Mikanovic

Vesna Bjegovic-Mikanovic

Full Professor, Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade.

Professor Vesna Bjegovic-Mikanovic is a full professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, specializing in medicine and public health. She has served in multiple leadership roles, including Vice-Dean for Continuing Medical Education (2012–2021) and founding Head of the Centre for Public Health and Management (2005–2013, 2015-2018). She is a member of the University Boards for Medical Sciences and IMT fields and the School of Public Health Programme Council. She was President of the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER) and is currently a member of its Honours Committee. In recognition of her contributions to public health, she received an honorary doctorate from the National School of Public Health in Athens. Professor Bjegovic-Mikanovic has been a visiting professor at the University of Skopje since 2018 and an external reviewer for the Agency for Public Health Education Accreditation (APHEA). She has consulted for WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, the European Commission, and the World Bank. Her research focuses on health policy, systems, and public health workforce development. She is a prolific author and Associate Editor of Frontiers in Public Health.

Sonia Dias

Sonia Dias

Full Professor, Dean, National School of Public Health, NOVA University Lisbon.

Professor Sónia Dias, PhD, is a Full Professor of Health Promotion at the National School of Public Health, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (ENSP-NOVA). She earned her PhD and Aggregation in International Health from Universidade NOVA de Lisboa and holds a degree in Psychology from Universidade de Lisboa. Prof. Dias coordinates the Public Health Research Center at ENSP-NOVA. Previously, she led the Doctoral Program in International Health at the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (IHMT/UNL) and directed the International Public Health Unit. She also coordinated the "Health Challenges of Travelers and Migrants" thematic line at the Global Health and Tropical Medicine Research Center. Her consultancy work includes collaborations with international organizations such as the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, the World Health Organization, and the International Organization for Migration. Prof. Dias's academic focus encompasses community health, health promotion, disease prevention, sexual health, and the health of vulnerable populations, including migrants. She has supervised numerous PhD candidates, contributing significantly to public and international health research.

Carl-Ardy Dubois

Carl-Ardy Dubois

Full Professor, Dean, School of Public Health, University of Montreal.

Carl-Ardy Dubois is currently Dean of the School of Public Health at the Université de Montréal (ESPUM) and full professor in the Department of Management, Evaluation and Health Policy. Dr Dubois has a multidisciplinary background, with a degree in medicine and graduate studies in epidemiology, biostatistics, health services administration and public health. After completing a PhD in public health at the Université de Montréal, he pursued post-doctoral studies in the United Kingdom, at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine hub of the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies. Dr. Dubois has pursued a distinguished research career for more than 20 years and is currently affiliated with the Public Health Research Center (CReSP) and the Interuniversity Research Center in Organizational Analysis (CIRANO). His research program on health human resources and health services organization has earned exceptional support from the most important funding organizations in Canada and various international agencies. Dr. Dubois has demonstrated exceptional leadership in health workforce capacity building and has carried out numerous expert activities responding to requests from ministries of health and health care organizations in a broad range of countries and jurisdictions.

Marta Lomazzi

Dr. Marta Lomazzi is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA). A medical biotechnologist by training, she holds a PhD in Neurosciences and has completed post-graduate studies in Health Diplomacy and Negotiations. With over 15 years of experience in operational management, strategic planning, and partnership building in international contexts, Dr. Lomazzi is an accomplished and innovative leader in public health. As COO, she oversees operations, fundraising, and program management, while fostering innovation to advance global public health initiatives. Her focus on strategic growth and impactful solutions ensures operational excellence and compliance. A passionate advocate for public health equity, Dr. Lomazzi co-founded the WFPHA International Immunization Policy Taskforce. In addition to her work at WFPHA, Dr. Lomazzi is a Privat-Dozent at the University of Geneva and co-editor of the Journal of Public Health Federation’s Pages.

Charlotte Marchandise

Executive Director, European Public Health Association.

Executive Director of the European Public Health Association (EUPHA) and the EPH Conference. She is an international expert and trainer in Health in All Policies, with a keen focus on global and urban health. Her experience spans participation, empowerment, and governance, highlighting her commitment to creating inclusive and healthy communities. With over two decades of dedication to the associative world, from capacity building to advocacy, she has contributed to public health policy and practice. From 2014 to 2020, Marchandise was the elected Deputy Mayor of Rennes for Health, and President of the French WHO Healthy Cities Network and political Chair of the European Network, where she promoted healthier environments through innovative and sustainable public health strategies. She also worked as consultant to the WHO in fostering intersectoral collaborations for enhanced health equity and evidence-based decisions.

Anne-Catherine Viso

Secretary General, International Association of National Public Health Institutes.

Dr. Anne-Catherine Viso has a PhD in Toxicology and a Master's degree in Technology and Innovation Management. Currently, she is the secretary general of IANPHI and the director of the Office of Scientific and International Affairs at Santé publique France , the French public health agency. Since October 2006, she has been in charge of European affairs. From August 2003 to 2006, Viso was responsible for European and international collaboration at the French Agency for Environmental and Occupational Health Safety. Prior to that, from 1993-2003, she worked for a French private company in charge of European projects related to water quality.
