Continuing Training and Educational Event

APHEA's Continuing Training and Educational Event (CTEE) Accreditation is a standalone award which publicly attests the quality of a variety of public health events designed for training and educational purposes such as, (but not limited to) short training courses, individual modules, symposia, summer schools, modules, MOOCs, and conferences.

In many countries these events fall under the heading of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) events which are designed to raise and support the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding required by a practicing  public health workforce.

This form of accreditation is aimed at supporting the continued training and amelioration of public health workforces through providing an international quality recognition for their continued training. As part of this accreditation APHEA will also issue their own credits which individuals can seek for conversion within their own national systems.

In addition to quality assurance CTEE accreditation has been designed with inbuilt quality improvement. The secondary aim of the accreditation application is to help guide training providers in organising their trainings and the types of activities seen as best practice. In this regard, the accreditation has "essential" elements which are required for accreditation but also non-essential areas which are there to help applicants consider benchmarking activities.

Successful applicants will receive a 3 year accreditation status (barring any substantive changes as outlined in the handbook), the right to use the APHEA logo on their materials and recognition of accreditation status on the APHEA website.
