APHEA @ Milan 2026: Strong Engagement and New Momentum

APHEA took an active and highly visible role at Milan 2026, engaging with ASPHER members through its information desk, a well-attended Information Session and a joint meeting of its governance bodies. The strong interest shown throughout the Congress confirmed the growing momentum for closer collaboration to advance the quality of public health education across the European Region and beyond.

APHEA was proud to take an active and highly visible role in the 1st European Congress on Education and Training in Public Health, held in Milan from 15 to 18 July 2026.

The Congress brought together leaders, academics, institutions and professionals committed to shaping the future of public health education and training across the European Region and beyond.

Throughout the event, APHEA contributed to several important activities. The Agency was represented at the ASPHER General Assembly, welcomed members and partners at its dedicated information desk, and hosted a very well-attended APHEA Information Session, providing an opportunity to present its work, standards and growing portfolio of accreditation activities.

A further highlight was the joint meeting of the APHEA Management Board, Board of Accreditation and Advisory Board, attended also by representatives of the APHEA General Assembly. The meeting enabled a valuable strategic exchange across APHEA’s governance structures and reinforced a shared commitment to strengthening quality assurance, accreditation and educational excellence in public health.

The remarkable interest shown by ASPHER members throughout the Congress was particularly encouraging. Their engagement, questions and readiness to explore closer cooperation provide strong confirmation of APHEA’s growing relevance, the strength of its partnership with ASPHER and the exciting opportunities ahead.

Building on the close relationship between APHEA and ASPHER, we look forward to further expanding our collaboration and working together with schools and programmes across the European Region and beyond to enhance the quality, visibility and impact of public health education.

APHEA warmly congratulates ASPHER and the Italian hosts on the outstanding organisation of this landmark Congress. The inspiring programme, welcoming atmosphere and exceptional opportunities for professional exchange made Milan 2026 a truly memorable occasion for the public health education community.

We are already looking forward to continuing this momentum at next year’s Congress in Zagreb, Croatia!
