Webinar Recording Available: Public Health Competencies for the Future

APHEA, in collaboration with ASPHER, EUPHA and IANPHI, hosted the webinar “Public Health Competencies for the Future” during European Public Health Week 2026, bringing together leading experts to discuss the future of public health education, competencies and workforce development.

Thank you to everyone who joined our webinar Public Health Competencies for the Future, held on 8 May 2026. The session brought together leading experts to discuss how public health education and systems must evolve to address emerging challenges, and which competencies will be essential for the future public health workforce.

The webinar opened with welcome remarks by Carlo Signorelli, President of APHEA, and featured contributions from:

  • Henrique Barros, President of the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER)
  • Charlotte Marchandise, Executive Director of the European Public Health Association (EUPHA)
  • Tiago Correia, Vice-chair of the International Association of National Public Health Institutes (IANPHI) Public Health Professional Development Committee
  • Paul Barach, Chair of the Board of Accreditation of the Agency for Public Health Education Accreditation (APHEA)

The discussion was moderated by Danko Relic, Executive Director of APHEA.
